A proud Milwaukee native, the MKE Rhine Maiden has both lived in and explored a variety of the metropolitan area’s distinctive communities. This includes downtown’s Lower East Side, Riverwest, Granville, West Allis, Brown Deer, Waukesha’s historic downtown, and Oak Creek. She currently lives in Bay View’s Fernwood neighborhood. She worked for Milwaukee Public Schools over two decades in the public Montessori program. Her favorite educational activity is helping students discover new and unique features of their city.
In a past life, the Rhine Maiden was a graphic designer. Always having had a side hustle, she continues practicing as a freelance artist, photographer, history enthusiast, and writer. She is interested in all branches of history, however, walking through the 2020 pandemic rekindled a particular curiosity for local history and travel. Having stumbled into this nationwide treasure hunt in 2022, she believes, wherever we go, the past lives. We simply need to find it.
